pack it up/pack it in.*
had we met roughly a decade or so ago, you might've asked to sit me down, offered me your support and a handful of garbage bags.
i had a penchant for bags, it and otherwise. spendy on occasion, but more often than not, it was a cheap bit of tat that momentarily made my day. i've reigned it in since then, my habits run a short gamut of silly things for my kid, and an occasional sephora run.
now, all things that simplify are where my heart lies. days are run on a tight schedule and my head moves clearer on routine, (spontaneity is penciled in for mondays and wednesdays).
things that help keep me organized, ready in a pinch - a pouch for a notebook and pen, blotting paper and lipgloss, totes to lug skates and helmet for my daughter, the endless supply of treats necessary for my greedy dog, and all the last-minute groceries for a dinner i'd rather not cook.
keep me put together, keep it cute - and i'll whisper your name in deep gratitude on the daily.
*let's glide right past the fact that a house of pain lyric graces the title of this post, (if i can get past the video replaying in my head).
